Welcome everyone to the September edition of my monthly features!

I’m supposed to start work on 15th September and then I start school on the 29th, so I might be absent around here for a while. I’ll do my best to continue with my monthly features though, I hope you enjoy them as much as me!

Autumn/Halloween Contest

Contest starts on 15th September and ends on 26th October.
Voting will be done by group members until the end of October.
Prizes to be announced!
2 entries per member.
You are free to interpret the theme however you like! You can choose to focus either on Autumn(Fall) or Halloween, but we’d like to see some Autumnal colours in your works. :thumb402007171: For example, red, orange, yellow, green, brown… The colours for Halloween also include purple and black. You can use whichever you like!

August/September 2014 ChallengeHi all
For the month of August into mid September we are running a Kaleidoscope Challenge. We know that many of you enjoy making this type of fractal and one member in particular has many in her gallery that she makes custom gradients for.  These can be generated in most if not all fractal software and indeed can be hand painted from drawings or filled in digitally from downloaded free graphics. You can also generate Kaleidoscopes from any images stored on your computer with plug ins for Gimp, Photoshop and Corel software

We are dedicating this challenge to a lovely lady who has recently overloaded herself and had a short stay in hospital.

we're doing things a bit differently with this contest which, hopefully,
will make ALL of our members feel that they have of winning, regardless
of what mediums they work with.
instead of having three winners, we will judge things within categories. we will choose one winner from each category.
the categories will be very similar to the folders in our gallery.

In addition to this we would like to throw down a challenge to all members to create something using the Outside Colouring Trap the Light Fantastic which can be found in tma.ucl.
This colouring by Toby Marshall has a great many parameters to play with but don't be put off by the complexity, exploring what's on offer is half the fun! Most parameters alter the trap shape but there is a comprehensive choice of texture parameters too so we would encourage you all to have a good look around and play with whatever parameter sections take your fancy.
